In recent years, a number of issues relating to ecology, agriculture and well-being have put the world of plants at the center of numerous debates, marking a turning point for plants. This reflects Western society's growing awareness of the diversity and importance of the plant world. In order to develop and propose recommendations at both economic and social levels, this plant turnaround requires interdisciplinary approaches. The aim of this colloquium is to bring together different fields of research working on the subject of plants: from biogeography to ecology, from history to biology and anthropology. The day will provide an opportunity to go beyond the traditional utilitarian vision of plants and address their possible agentivity. Four round-table discussions will bring together specialists from different disciplines on two faculties of the Université Paris Cité (Sociétés et humanités / Sciences) to look at the history of plant practices, plant sensibilities, the debate on the consciousness of non-humans and, finally, plants as agents of tomorrow's world.
